Re: 2004 Grand Cherokee Won't Start, HELP SENTRY

Did the gear shifter change solve all problems at once, or only the no start?
I didnīt know that you have a diesel engine, the shifter assy is probably different then for the gasoline versions. The wiring manual shows several gear position sensing (switches?) and also a PCI data bus connection with the shifter assy.

I seem to remember there being a sensor underneath that can get dirty and cause issues, particularly in P or N.

Re: 2004 Grand Cherokee Won't Start, HELP SENTRY

Hi,

I believe it solved all the problems at once.

And yes sorry it's a diesel, i forgot to mention that :-)

And yeh i saw that in the manual, wasn't too sure where to start with it all really. I think it must be something to do with the pci feed though because that would explain the lack of fault codes as the can bus must be down when its broken.
