4.7 to 4.6 intake

i was wondering if anyone has looked into the 4.7l to 4.6l ford intake adapter so you can put a 03-08, 3v 4.6 intake manifold setup on the Chrysler 4.7 engine.

i looked into it somewhat and saw that the intake manifold adapter alone cost 555.00$ and the 3v 4.6 intake manifold for a 05-08 GT is about 90.00$. That is 645.00$ without the throttle body plus modifying the fuel rails and installation at a pro shop if your not a DTY expert.

This kind of mod to a Jeep is not cheap but if i had the money i'd do it in a heartbeat.

Re: 4.7 to 4.6 intake

I had also thought about it but instead running a cobra super charger since my motor will be heavily built. But for now im just going with a '08 4.7 intake with possibly rigging an LS1 TB to it.

Re: 4.7 to 4.6 intake

The manifold actually applies to the DOHC 4.6s, not the 3V motors. As I understand it anyways.

For less money you can run an 08 manifold, or even run a ported WJ manifold. I have the latter for sale, complete with epoxy modification to make the most of the inlet.

With any of these mods, custom tuning is mandatory.

Re: 4.7 to 4.6 intake

For those who are interested in the Eaton M112 on the 4.7L using those same adaptor plates you may be interested in this current build up.

Its a 2002 Dodge Ram Single Cab with a 4.7L currently RUNNING the EATON M112... Through SCT tuning, RYAN has nailed down the idle, part throttle all the way up to 4,000 RPMS with 7lbs of boost... thats where the factory fuel pump screams for mercy... So tomorrow we will install a new pump and resume WOT tuning.

AGAIN FLYINRYAN has nailed down the hardest part through SCT tuning... with 39lb injectors this idles at 600RPM like if it where a factory NA engine. You would never know.... Tip off idle to drive is seamless...

So tuning this bad boy is NOT an issue!

SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM

Re: 4.7 to 4.6 intake

ok, lots of work, I understand. Thank you for that. However it would be nice if you expanded on that, as I am already with heads off, So thinking that the costs going back together from this point is one of two ways. kickass job and smiles every time i drive it or just another car my girl will drive every day and never be thankful for all the work that went into it.

Or just pick up these dakota 01 heads rebuilt for 250 pair and just replace the heads gaskets up.

drive the jeep and enjoy camping this summer.
