there is 1 actual coil pack, but as for individual coils, there are 3 in one pack, if that made sense?

I was curious however, if it grounds though the bolts to the block, or the connector. and also, if one coil does 1&2, or 1&6 ? reason to believe 1&6 would be because both 1 and 6 pistons come to TDC at the same time. meaning they move together as do 2&5, and 3&4.... food for thought

My bad, I think your electrical ignition (in the 99) is different than mine (in the 03). Mine has a rail with 3 coil packs on it. All quick searching shows that it fits 2000-2004 Jeeps. I didn't realize there was a difference.

That's what mine looks like also (for some reason a lot of sites are saying 2000-2004, dunno). I consider that 3 coil packs. It's all on 1 rail, but 3 packs.

see, now i would consider it one coil pack, because u cant change one without changing the other two. Summit Racing sells coil packs for 99-04 WJ 4.0... but they look nothing like that... its the style coil pack that you put a spark plug wire on, similar to a Ford Ranger?? weird lol :shrugs:
