Re: deisel swap

There was diesel versions here '99-'01 had the Detroit Diesel 3.1 lump and '02-'04 had a Mercedes Benz 2.7 lump which was a huge improvement and responds pretty well to tuning - check out the Export section.

The cost involved of swapping one of these into your Jeep (and importing it and all its accessories) would be ridiculous though.

Re: deisel swap

There is a guy on here who lives near me. He's putting a 4bt in his but it will be a trail only vehicle.

Re: deisel swap

If I did I would consider a Cummins 4BT (4 cylinder version of the 6BT used in Dodge Rams.) They are durable, relatively easy to find but are very heavy.

Re: deisel swap

He lives about 30 miles from me. I bought parts from him and asked about more stuff and he never answered.
