Re: doing head gasket on 4.7 help

Sorry, but i thought that the attached manual pages where showing exactly how much torque and in which sequence has to be applied. You will need a torque wrench to apply the required pre-torque and just follow the steps written.
Here attached some info regarding the used sealant.

Re: doing head gasket on 4.7 help

found these on wiki they any help or this guy way off? and he doesnt speak of the 4 extra bolts

Torquing the cylinder head bolts is a multistep process in order in ensure that the heads are tightened evenly around the whole head. So:
Step one: 11 mm bolts 1 - 10 tighten to 15 ft lbs
Step two: 11 mm bolts 1 - 10 tighten to 35 ft lbs
Step three: 8 mm bolts 11 - 14 tighten to 18 ft lbs
Step four: 11 mm bolts 1 - 10 turn an additional 90 degrees (1/4 turn)
Step five: 8 mm bolts 11 - 14 tighten to 22 ft lbs

Hope this helps.
Good luck !!

Re: doing head gasket on 4.7 help

Ok, try opening it on a computer then, because all the torque specs are on that page.
Not sure regarding the amount of stored messages, but as a non paying member they reduced the amount a lot. I tried to respond and it said that your limit was reached.
