Well, when I do get one of the series, it will be the Delta.

Who knows where to get one online?
I'm having trouble. They dont have my Year (1999) on the main site.. unless im blind.

Flowmaster 44 Series Delta
Flowmaster 50 Series Delta

Is the size 2.25? and what about the center and left piping on it.

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Series Question!?

year wont matter, just get the right inlet and outlet size...... our 4.0 is 2.25 on all connection.

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Series Question!?

Its usually center in left out, 2.25 is the stock size tube unless its been changed over time. You can usually get flowmasters at local parts stores or advance auto parts.

For the 4.0Ho i would say delta 44 would sound good but will drone. I would go with a 50 series delta.

Does 50 series still have a good sound to it?
I mean, will I notice a difference between stock, and flowmaster?

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Series Question!?

I got a delta 40 from pepboys, it was pretty sweet to go in there and grab it right off the shelf. That being said, on my old wrangler with the 4.0 i had the 50 series and there was very very little drone, there was a very noticeable difference, but it was far from beastly. After about a year of having the 50 series, i was wishing i had the 40 series.

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Series Question!?

I'm getting the 40 series Delta.

But one more thing, is the Super 44 louder?

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Series Question!?

once the 50s break in they'll be just as loud as the 40 which is obnictious so I say go for the 60.

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Series Question!?

I had the 50 series for 4 years and never came close to the 40 series.

Re: Flowmaster Muffler Series Question!?

I personally don't really care for any of the 'packed' mufflers like Magnaflow/Dynomax/etc. I prefer something that uses only metal on the interior.

The 40 Series is the loudest, but because of its small case size it is also 'raspy'. The 40 also has the most interior drone and it is reported to perform worse then other straight through mufflers at the higher rpm ranges.

The 40 Series Delta is the quietest of the 40s, and was deisgned to address the performance and resonance issues of the original 40. Everything about this muffler has been improved upon by the Super 44.

The Super 44 is like the 40 Series Delta but a little bit louder and supposedly slightly better flow over the 40 Series Delta.

The Super 40 uses a large 5 INCH tall case which gives it the lowest 'tone' of the 3 mufflers but also the quietest of the 3 (still significantly louder then a 50 series). It also has the best flow performance of the 3.

I've used all 4 variations at one time or another, and strongly prefer the Super 40 as long as the 5 Inch case size doesn't affect fitment.

Here is a sample video..
