Depends on the motor and mods. A 6.1 with intake/cmr/exhaust would probably pick up 7-10 whp with a TB, not to mention quicker throttle response. The biggest gains are part throttle driving and cruising.

Got ya , looks like I'm getting the cast ported Arrington TB to go with my Ported Intake Many .. Stock one looks bad there

Ultimately, yeah, thats the way to go. Alot of people, myself included, can't be bothered to spend that kind of money on a TB though.

I can do one-off porting for those with ported manifolds too...

I know some folks that have them, I'm sure they're fine but for the money they are barely better than a bored/ported stocker.

If you're gonna blow the money on a aftermarket casting , do it right
