Re: gas mileage? 4.0 what can i do?

IMO depends on what type of gas company you use... i use bp works out the best for me with 14mpg city and 21.5 highway ive used shell and citgo both GARBAGE and even caused my 4.0 to misfire as well as use up a full tank in less then 120miles it was embarrassing i tried a lot to see which is best for me and BP it is.... might be different depending on engine usage etc. Personally using 93 will do more damage then good

Re: gas mileage? 4.0 what can i do?

After the 2002 model year the instant MPG feature was removed from the info center function. Don't know the exact reason why. Maybe too many accidents from people looking up instead of forward? Lol.

Re: gas mileage? 4.0 what can i do?

By the way, this won't work for 4.0 cars, but 4.7's from 1999 to 2001 can have the trans reflashed by the dealer to upgrade to a 5 speed vs 4 speed overdrive. Cost me $100 and worth every penny. Lowers RPM by about 400 added another MPG on the highway.
Lowering restrictions to intake and exhaust should mean less throttle required and therfore better MPG for 4.0's but I'll reserve judgement till I can experiment a little on my newly aquired 2002 GCL.
