Re: Help me plan!

Since you want it ridiculously loud...chop the muffler off and call it a day. A PowerStick or some kinda straight thru bullet style muffler will get rid of the annoying noises that come with a straight pipe.

Its your choice tho. If your system is that loud tho, will you ever be able to hear the exhaust??

Re: Help me plan!

If I chop the muffler off it would be illegal. Connecticut requires a muffler of some kind and no more than like 72DB from 50 feet from the exhaust. I sent you a PM Hannes about if it is possible to add the powerstick even tho the outlet of the old muffler is offset and the pipes are not and even line to each other. It looks like this in the back ______--------. Will there be a problem pulling one of the pipes to the side? Is that even possible without breaking something?

Re: Help me plan!

My other thought is possibly taking off the muffler and tailpipe assembly and simply slapping the Powerstick on there halfway under the Jeep and putting a simple turn down tailpipe on it....what do you think guys?

Re: Help me plan!

O.K guys, this is IT. My final plan for my exhaust system until I can afford a 1,5k system! (cat and everything else)

Please let me know if there is ANYTHING that you suggest I change. I am planning to order the Powerstick this week. I will be taking final measurements tomorrow to see if it will fit before the back. Again, any advice will help I do not want to mess up anything.

Re: Help me plan!

You probably won't want to hear this but I'll say it any way. Exhaust work is the one thing I won't do on my Jeeps; just ain't worth the aggravation. Take the power stik to a local exhaust shop, tell em you want to replace the stock muffler, sit in the waiting room and drink some free coffee and then pay them about $100. Trust me, it will get done right and you'll not waste a day cussing and swearing.

Re: Help me plan!

A day cussing a swearing, blood sweat and all is what I live for in a Jeep. I wouldn't take it off road if I didn't mind working for it.

Re: Help me plan!

OK, got everything cut off and measured. Turns out my pipes are NOT 2 1/2 but 2 1/4! Good thing I didn't buy the Power stick yet! Anyway, It sounds real nice with the muffler and tailpipe gone and just a turn down on the end for now!
