Hi, here is a picture of the engine in place, showing it clears steering fine. Using factory Ram manifold on drivers side and WK2 jeep manifold on passenger side. Have mocked up A/c, PS & Alt and they fit fine. No cutting on Jeep. The mounts we built use factory bolt holes and are 3/16" plate so they are not going anywhere!
If someone has put even GM in TJ or WJ just need to know how they hooked into ECM. After talking to Hotwire they keep the stock computer to run gauges and all the other modules in vehicle. For $1800 they will build a new harness but that is crazy money for hooking up a couple dozen wires from the old harness to a new engine computer.
I know you need to feed a tach signal and manifold pressure for the trans to work. Then feed for gauges - water temp etc. Once that is done the engine will run it's own computer and think it is still in the Ram. The jeep will still think there is a 4.7 in there and go about doing it's other functions.
When you do a swap in a TJ or something like that you need to do the same thing. Should not be that hard. Certainly not $1800 hard since that is just the wiring, they still add $$$ on for the engine computer.
