Jeep 4 hole injectors
I've seen a bunch of threads on this topic, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents. My jeep is a 2000 4.0l with 215000 miles I replaced the engine 3 yrs. ago with a used reman with about 80,000 on the clock. Two weeks ago I found 4 of my injectors cracked, 2 of them definetly leaking! So I decided now is a good time to try the injector 4 hole upgrade. I ordered 6 Bosch 4 hole injectors (PN# 028155895) for $60.00 on EBay. I did some research and they were for a 2008 Crown Vic V8. Once installed I instantly noticed a much smoother idle, and a slightly healthier note from the exhaust! On first drive, I was pleasantly surprised at how much power this thing now has! It now launches when you touch the pedal! Hills that I climb on my commute that I used to struggle with, it now walks right up! Bottom line, torque and horsepower much improved!
Now for fuel mileage. My commute is 26.5 miles of hilly, curvy roads with 4 traffic lights and 11 stop signs, and speeds varying between 25 and 50. Before my average mpg was 17.4 , my average now is 19.00 mpg! An increase of 1.6 mpg for 60 bucks! I must admit some of this is due to just having good sealed injectors! I also replaced my fuel pump, fuel filter, can sensor, crank sensor, coil pack, and spark plugs. So I figure some of that may contribute to the increase of mileage as well. However I am completely happy with the swap, the truck is running better than it ever has! Has any one else had similar results?
