K&N or Airaid CAI

What do you think is better for the limited wj. Ive heard that airaid was better because it uses the factory bottom of the air intake so that heat from the engine doesnt get sucked back up into it. I need your opinions on what one i should get.

Also if you could please mention so engine upgrades i should do as well.

Re: K&N or Airaid CAI

I'd say K&N just because I'v run them on my last 3 cars including my 4.7 WJ and they are awesome. Other engine mods would be SCT tune, Exhaust, H.O. cams (if you can find them) and maybe an '08 intake manifold.

Re: K&N or Airaid CAI

K&N is the best, I run Spectre. Doesn't matter which ya really use as long as you have a heat shield, you'll be good to go.

Re: K&N or Airaid CAI

Statistically K&N says the polyethylene tube produces more power but really its up to you

Re: K&N or Airaid CAI

Yep just got my KN plastic intake for my 4.0 saved me some money and like JeepFreak12 says it does produce more hp somehow. Yeah I see what you guys are talking about with the "heat shield" supplied I'm working on something with that. LOL I just pulled it out of the box and want to change it already. Hopefully Ill get some pics up later on tonight if it stops raining long enough for me to install it.

Re: K&N or Airaid CAI

yes very pleased with my KN install was a breeze, nice noticeable response in power, nice for when you need that "power to pass".

I have never been a huge fan of k&n but my favorite intakes by far have to go to the afe stage 2 intake or the air raid. Air raid does an EXCELLENT job of keeping the air cool. Almost like outside temps. I started with the jr kit that only replaced the silencer box on top of the manifold and gave me a new air filter. The quickfit was the next step and even the junior kit made a big difference. Overall the air raid in my opinion is by far superior
