Re: Might have a problem here

not throwing any codes here. If i let the car warm up about 15mins its not bad at all, rpms still drop almost to stall if i stop quickly. Maybe its just the fluid or filter.

Re: Might have a problem here

I would start with a fluid and filters change and see what it does. But it seems that one of the tranny clutches is not releasing, causing the engine to stall when slowing down. Can be that fresh fluid and filters will do the trick. Let us know how it works out.

Re: Might have a problem here

It could be your torque converter not unlocking when you come to a stop and that is why it is stalling. It's kinda like stopping in a vehicle with a manual trans and not pushing the clutch in so it stalls.

Re: Might have a problem here

After learning a bit more about the function of the torque converter, i have to agree with those who already said that the problem is most probably the torque converter itself. The stalling of the engine can not be caused by the tranny, but it is the converter which for whatever reason doesn't disconnect the engine from the tranny when coming to a stop. So every day i learn a little bit more.

Re: Might have a problem here

Today it started acting up again. I press on the gas and it barely moves and rpms shoot up, it finally starts to go. It feels like its in 2nd and not down shifting to 1st, also it doesnt feel like its shifting to 5th either. I threw a code P0700 which i researched and is the TCM, so could that be the speed sensor then?

Re: Might have a problem here

P0700 is a message that the TCM has stored a fault. So now you need a DRBIII scan tool to find out which fault is stored. An input/output sensor could cause this code to be set, but seeing also your other problems of engine stall when stopping, slow acceleration and engine rev up quickly, it really looks more torque converter related. But best to go somewhere where they have the scan tool to get the fault out of the TCM, then you probably will know better what to do.

Re: Might have a problem here

Got the code read and it came back as P71 something, cant remember but it said manufact control transmission. So it not the sensors i guess, does that mean I need a PCM reflash or what, Im lost now.

Re: Might have a problem here

So nows its important to know what that "something" number behind the P071 is.
Here follow the possible codes:

DTC P0710 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit Malfunction
DTC P0711 TFT Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
DTC P0712 Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor Circuit Low Input
DTC P0713 Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor Circuit High Input
DTC P0714 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent
DTC P0715 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction
DTC P0716 Input Speed Sensor Circuit Intermittent
DTC P0717 Input Speed Sensor Circuit Low Input
DTC P0718 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Intermittent
DTC P0719 Brake Switch Circuit Low Input
