more horse power

hey jeep friends I have a 99 g.c ltd. 4.7 (non h.o) what i was wanting to know is can i put a 05 g.c 5.7 hemi in my g.c. will it hook up to my tranny & everything or do i have to change everything. cause i found one complete (engine only) for $5.000 with only 5k on it. or would i be better off to just find a 4.7 h.o. its for a daily driver. i would like to get 300 to 325 hp at least. i would like to keep up (or) out run a mustang. any help would be app. thanks guys

You need to go to www.airram.com, he's got a ton of stuff for the 4.7L, and for 5000, that's a good chunk of change for a lot of upgrades. You could definitely get an exhaust/intake/upgraded throttlebody/2008intake/ported heads/HO or 206 cams and be easily making the power your after with a good tune. Maybe I'm a bit naive and undereducated on the subject, but $5000 into any engine will make it haul ass. Keep the 4.7, rebuild!

Re: more horse power

for $5k you could stroke the 4.7 to 5.7 with all forged internals......

Random thought, but I've always toyed with the idea of a built 4.7L with a nice fat shot of nitrous. Ported and Polished heads, forged internals, Throttle body upgrade, 2008 intake, and some nice cams with a fat shot of nitrous ... it'd be funny to see a WJ purging at a stop light haha.
