hi all.... terrible news... the retards where i order the motor f'd me big time. I now have not one but two, 3.5l v6 engines that I can do not-a-thing with, and i'm out my 1800.00 I'm taking him to court but that doesn't solve my problems of not having a truck NOW. Sooo anyone got a 4.7l v8 they wanna trade two engines for??? I'm crying over here, trying to stay positive but my heart is broken. I do how ever have a 5.2l v8, sitting in a dodge in my yard that runs... any thoughts?

Take him to court. He must be an absolute moron to make the same mistake twice. Unfortuneately make the 5.2 fit would take more work then just trying to get the correct motor.

How can they make you pay for their mistake of ordering the wrong engine? I would refuse to pay anything until they get the order correct. Hell they could keep milking you forever by just ordering engine after engine until they finally run out of the wrong ones.

That really sucks!

I just got a 4.7L off of craigslist for $150 (82,000 miles) out of a 02 durango (4-plug PCM). Previous owner thought the engine was shot but when I removed the valve cover I immediately saw the problem.....the infamous cam follower(rocker arm) had popped off and was causing the rough running and engine tick.
Cylinder leak down tests were all good so I may be good to go except for swapping the tone rings on cam and crank. I just need to find out the best fix for the cam followers popping off. New oem lash adjusters and new cam followers? Maybe go to solid lash adjusters(not hydraulic)? Stiffer springs? staking the valve seats if a dropping seat caused problem? Cleaning engine well to remove any buildup on valves or cleaning oil pump pickup or oil passages? Or maybe just go ahead with a cylinder head rebuild?

Anyway, hope you can resolve your problem with the seller. Definitely dispute charge if you used credit card or Paypal.

i am past the 120 days limit to dispute per Visa. I have two 3.5l v6 motors, if I can sell them I can make most of it back, be out only like 500. I just want my motor. I have found a couple of durango motors, but Im just not sure I wanna mess with all that conversion. I have a 5.2l v8 out of a 98 WJ but I think they aren't quite the same. different tranny i think so different bell housings. At least i think anyways. I am not totally sure what all the differences are between the durango motors and the jeep motors are. anyway, im rambling...

hmmmm...I see your in Hawaii. Did you try www.car-part.com? I would sell what you have...then we can help you find one. The problem is you are in hawaii and shipping from the mainland...may be expensive.

Yea thank you scottina, Hawaii, shipping VERY expensive. You'd think there would be a ton of these motors around, seeing as Hawaii is a jeepers paradise, but there just aren't very many motors. I got these motors listed, but I am gonna make some phone calls today, check all the yards and see if anyone might be intersted in a trade. I need to figure out what cars they are from first. I have em listed, but people keep calling thinking they might be ls1 motors... just frustrated and sad over here i want my baby
