Re: Overheating :(

Does your engine overheat when driving and when only idling? Don't know which engine you have, but i know with the 4.7 you have to be very carefull with overheating it. To which temperature does it rise? Airco on or off?

Re: Overheating :(

sounds like a bad water pump, but could be t stat, clogged radiator, fan clutch, head gasket, intake gasket, etc etc... i recommend u have it checked out by an ase certified tech, and then we can help guide u if u wanna do the repair urself. theres no way anyone on this forum would be able to diagnose an overheating problem without having the jeep in front of us, but i would check water pump and fan clutch first. any good shop would be able to diagnose the problem fast and probably for under $60

Re: Overheating :(

For sure when the cooling liquid never has been changed, its time to drain it now and flush the system thoroughly. To check that the thermostat is opening, just warm up the engine and feel the lower radiator hose, it should be hot. If not, the thermostat is stuck closed, the waterpump has failed or the radiator is clogged. But start by draining the cooling liquid and flush the system.
