Re: The Heck makes a WJ shutoff while driving?
It's a pretty easy replacement, the hardest part is actually getting the old sensor out. I just replaced mine a month or two back, ONLY BUY A MOPAR SENSOR!!!! I got mine at a dealer that had it in stock for $50. Crawl under it, remove the starter bolts that hold the starter in place(may need to remove another wire or two, can't recall), move the starter out of the way and place it on the frame rail. The sensor is just above that. There's one bolt holding it in, and if it was anything like the 140k mile stocker on mine, it'll be a bitch to remove; wiggling and twisting it helped, but it still took about 30min to get it out. The new sensor came with an o-ring already installed, so I slightly wet it with some oil, slipped it in, and bolted it back in. It's actually a really simple job, just a bit of a pain to get the old sensor out. You don't need socket, I did mine with a couple twisted craftsman wrenches and a couple adjustable head ratcheting wrenches.
