Re: Throttle body cleaner

The IAC is not a sensor, but a stepper motor. It regulates the airflow in idle to achieve the right RPM and is also used during deceleration and when switching on the AC. Normally the throttle body cleaner does no harm, its only a good thing to drive around a bit after you have used it to get it all out. Did you use the cleaner also through the small air opening below the throttle valve ( the air passage which is regulated by the IAC), because there is normally quite some dirt present overthere. Maybe the IAC stepper motor is not well regulated anymore after the cleaning job. Just disconnect the negative cable to the battery and connect it again. The stepper motor will drive full close and full open, for the PCM to know this positions. Donīt do this with the IAC stepper motor removed, because there is a change that the plunger/spring will disconnect from the stepper motor ( as happened with me)......

Re: Throttle body cleaner

^ x2 on that. Also did you get any cleaner on the sensors? If so they can go funny.
