what size muffler inlet

what size is the stock pipe on my jeep i want to replace my muffler with an after market but i dont know what size inlet should i get its a 2000 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 i went down there and it looks to be a 2.5" pipe but am not sure so should i get a 2.5 inlet muffler and same for outlet ?

autozone recommends me a 2.25 i guess that would be the right one

i have 2.5 inlet and outlet on my 4.0 just had to replace the rear pipe
