Re: What spark plugs go into an 02' GC Overland with the 4.7 HO engine

Thanks again. I guess with 157k that explains the difference. :-). Man I love this Jeep. I just put the upgraded Kicker speakers from the 05'-10' GJ (minor dash cutting but invisible once you put the dash cover back on). Sounds great. Quite a bit better than the Infinitys. I also bought an integrated iPod/iPhone converter (lost the 10 CD changer use but don't care with my iPhone connected). Love it Love it Love it.

How much mileage you guys getting on a full tank? My 02 4.7 nets me about 400km/tank cost me $90 to fill up with mid grade 89. Was using 91, switched to 89 for a bit and havent noticed a diff in power or mileage. I do 50/50 hwy/city. I think I should be getting a little bit better mileage than that no?

Re: What spark plugs go into an 02' GC Overland with the 4.7 HO engine

Based on my math you're getting between 12 and 13MPG, in 50/50 driving on 89.
I'm getting 15-16 MPG in the city on 93.
I would say you could do better, maybe not too much better. It could be as simple as driving style. That accounts for A LOT! I lent out my old Jeep XJ to a buddy once for a week while I was out of town. When I figured out the MPG it had dropped 3. After I started driving it again...right back to normal. Your foot can do a lot.

Any chance we could get you to post up some pics or more info on your iPhone set up? I'm tempted to do something similar...

13 isn't too bad. I get about 15 on mine in mixed driving with about 128000 miles. and an extra 250lbs on the front of the rig.

I have switched all fluids to synthetic and run on 92 octane too.

Re: What spark plugs go into an 02' GC Overland with the 4.7 HO engine

Interesting. Thanks and sorry for the thread warp. I dont think the octane the level did anything economy wise for me which is why I went down to a mid grade after a few tanks of premium on some new plugs, PCV valve, oil change and air filter.

What kind of air pressure do you guys run? I try to keep it at around 36 psi. I can be a little heavy on the pedal in the city sometimes. That last 1/4 tanks seems to dry up pretty quick compared to the first 3/4. Even when I feather the throttle I think the best I ever got was 420kms on a full tank on Premium.
