Re: Where Is My Coolant Going??

Got the Jeep back last night and all seems fine after new gaskets. Thanks again for all the help. Now onto the next project, which is the blend door, although I might wait 'till spring to do that one. Luckily I still get heat on the driver's side plus its getting a little too cold outside to tackle such a long job without a garage.

Glad to hear it was just the gasket!

Hm sounds like the same situation I'm in, wait til warmer weather to fix the blend door. Only problem is we have to take my wife's car wherever we go together so she doesn't become a popsicle!

Re: Where Is My Coolant Going??

Baaaad news. Drove it for a couple days and the low coolant warning came on. Didn't panic just thought the system was a little low after being drained. A day later it was low again. Not good. So i checked the oil and it was milky. Now I'm assuming the worst, which I'm guessing is a blown engine. Already put in more coolant and I'm thinking about changing the oil so see if maybe there's just left over coolant in there. Is there any point in this or am I just wasting my money/time? If so what would be my next step. Is there a way to confirm a blown engine? is it possible that it's just the head and not the block? I'm trying not to panic but I need to know what to do next to get this resolved asap. Thanks in advance for any input..
