Re: 01Grand finally gets HIDs and projectors!

Nope, every car here comes with one or the other (normally both though) if they have Xenons right from >2004 - from Ford to Toyoto to Bentley.

They must be high pressure washers too, I did think about buying washers from another car to fit but gave up.

Yes it is suffiicient, but after 2 years of using it i get kinda tired of it at times. Hmmm, maybe I should just change colors.

Cool, gotta love the 3K fogs .

What brand if HID kits do you use? I bet a 55w 4300-4500 or a 55w 5000k would be good for you.

Got it from and old member here, forgot the screen name thou. He used to sell the Xentec brands. Pretty good product for the price. Two years without any issues with ballast and bulbs.

Im leaning towards the 55w 5K right now, not sure when I'll pull the trigger. LoL!

Cool and yeah I would say that's pretty reliable.

Do you think you will buy Xentec or maybe go with something like XenonDepot?

I heard good things about XenonDepot products but no personal experience. Im still in the hunt for a new one so I am not counting them out.

I've been happy with Xentex and I really dont have a problem with it, so right now Im not sure if I want to stick with that brand or get a different one for comparison. Either way, Im sure I will be happy with whatever I end up buying.

Re: 01Grand finally gets HIDs and projectors!

Hey guys.

New member here.

It's time to replace/upgrade the lights on my '02 and wondered if anyone could detail what I will need to go the projector/HID route?

I saw these on ebay and thought they fit the bill based on the threads I've read so far.

I'm not sure on the HID side of things as I've read about harnesses etc.

Any assistance is very much appreciated.

Cheers.

Re: 01Grand finally gets HIDs and projectors!

Those are exactly what I bought, except I chose the chrome internals rather than black but that's just my preference. As for the HID kit, check out our vendor Xenon Depot (kbcarstuff.com) they have some rock solid products. I went with the volt kit but if I did it over again I'd probably chose the xtreme kit. Plus, you can use JG as a coupon code for $25 off kits. The extreme kit includes the relay harness needed to make sure they get enough power.

To sum up, what you will need is those housings in your link and one of Xenon Depot's HID kits. They come with everything you need, ballasts, bulbs etc and its all pretty much plug and play. Plus they are great at answering any questions you may have.

Thanks for the feedback Aaron!

I will be pulling the trigger to get these this week most likely.

I will have a look at the chrome version as well.

Re: 01Grand finally gets HIDs and projectors!

Guys, I'm looking to upgrade our '01 Limited headlights.
Housing as well as adding the HID kit y'all have done.
Questions:
The round halo rings...what powers them? Are they LED's in a ring that come with the housings? I've been looking through a bunch of them on E-bay and can't find that info anywhere. Will I have to buy additional LED's for those to work? Anybody have a current link to an e-bay set that will work?
I'm considering these: 99 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee CCFL Halo Projector LED Headlights Lights Left Right | eBay

Next question:
What style of HID bulb is the "whitest" and do not have a delay when going between low and high beams? Would those work with the aforelinked set?

Thanks in advance.
