A/C - Heater control issue

I got in my '99 yesterday and turned on the AC but nothing was blowing out the vents in front of me. No matter where I turned the knob to it only blows out of the defrost vents. Is it maybe actuator issue? Thanks - Marty.

Re: A/C - Heater control issue

You most probably have the manual AC control system, which uses vacuum actuators (not for the blend door though). There is most probably a leak in the vacuum line in between the engine inlet and the actuator. Without vacuum, the system goes into the defrost position. Many times the vacuum hose is loose from the inlet, or is dry rotted at some place. I would start in the engine bay and look for a loose or dry rotted hose.

Check near the passenger side headlight remove it and underneath it.

The 3 wj's i've had leaked at the cruise vacuum port under near the headlight.
