Cluster Question

Thinking about picking up a used cluster to play with some led's. My question is does the odometer get the mileage from the pcm or is it recorded in the cluster? I don't want to turn my 67k Jeep into a 200k Jeep Also will the standard cluster plug and play in an indiglo Jeep?

Re: Cluster Question

I've been looking to do the same and it stays with the cluster it seems. You'd have to reprogram it to get the correct mileage.

Re: Cluster Question

Supposedly there is a chance that your jeep will keep the current miles, however this was not the case in my 2000... The donor clusters (02) miles remained. Wasn't bad for me (shaved off 100 miles

Re: Cluster Question

I've done this with a 99TJ and a 98XJ. The mileage stays with the cluster. I'm 99% sure the dealer can reprogram it for you.
