Hey everyone! So I'm looking to clean up the engine bay a little bit on my 2001 Grand Cherokee. I don't think it's ever been cleaned before.
I've never cleaned an engine bay, but I've been looking up information about how to do it. From what I can tell, it's okay to hose the engine down with (low-pressure) water, but just stay away from directly spraying electrical components.
So far, I've got a couple of questions:
- Is there anything specific in the engine bay (electrical, etc.) that I need to cover-up to avoid water damage? Fuses, battery, alternator, etc.
- I already purchased some brushes a bottle of 303 Aerospace Protectant to shine everything up. Can anyone recommend a good degreaser to use to loosen up all the grime and dirt? I was thinking of going with this Detailer's Pro Engine Degreaser, but it's kind of pricey.
- Does anyone have any tips in general about cleaning an engine bay?
Thanks in advance!
