Well the bottom line is that you're trying to make yourself more visible to other drivers. How often does fog occur in this currently unknown country of yours that makes a rear fog a legal requirement?

The idea of doing the quad mod but using them as running lights could get you by. Even though they would double as running/braking lights, I'm sure you could create a clever lie to persuade any member of law enforcement if they stop you with it.

Right, if you can't see the guy's running lights a reflector won't help, but a brighter bulb will which is the point of the rear fog. like in the video, that first car you can't see the taillights but you can see that rear fog very well.

The quad mod would work as just running lights if he were to use a single filament bulb/socket (one with only two wires instead of three) as opposed to a dual filament. Then tap off the running light power (and not the brake lamp wire) and you'll have a constant on running lamp.

I don't remember which wire was the power for running lamps and which for the brake light, but here's another writeup where he mentioned which wires he used... a simple voltage test of these wires will tell you which is hot with the running lights on. Tap that one and use a really bright bulb... How to Join the WJ Quad Squad!

Yeah once again here we go with the different warring Jeep sites again lol. That's funny they consider links to other Jeep sites as spam sometimes. No matter where the link came from or directs to at least you're presenting a way to find the information to be helpful to other users and for that I thank you.

Too bad the author of the novel Romance of the Three Kingdom's (Luo Guanzhong) couldn't be around today or maybe we could have gotten him to write an epic novel of this 3-way Jeep war lol.

Re: Fog lamps

I have an European build jeep with the rear fog lights factory installed. Also the light switch stack has an extra position to switch the rear fog lights. Due to this setup, it was easy for me to do the quad mod.

Relax Scott, I was only kidding. I know you spend a majority of your time administering this site so ya gots to relax lol.

In response to the Jeep warring thing:

I'm not trying to be in the realm of bias but I believe this site is superior because it's able to reach an equilibrium between aesthetics and off-roading where as we know Jeep Forum is majority off-roading and Street Jeeps all about the Street.

Re: Fog lamps

Do you have a trailer hitch?

I would mount a set of "LED Trailer" lights on the hitch body and run wires from the front fogs.

Sorry for the double post but that's a good idea. You could use a 6.5" oval LED meant for truck or trailers or you could roll with a 4"
