Re: Fog lamps

Try finding a good pair of fogs and just mount them to the rear, a lot of people do that here in the U.S., just wire them in.

you do know "rear fog lights" are not simply front fogs in the rear right?

You know that he's referring to a rear fog light, not using fogs in the rear as auxillary backup lights right? http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/re...-light-276481/

Re: Fog lamps

so I tried replying to this a couple days ago and it's not showing... I guess my post needed approved for some reason? I tried posting a link to another forum which showed exactly what you need...

Anyway Gus, I think he means the factory rear fog lights, which aren't actually white light emitting fogs, but rather a red light so people behind you can see you better in the fog...

at about 40 seconds you see two cars go by with a really bright red light on the rear... if you pause it at 41 you can see the two taillights, and on the passenger side below the tail light is a really bright red light, that's the rear fog light

Re: Fog lamps

I'm not sure how long it would take for you to fabricate rear fogs into your Jeep. It's kind of stupid that it's required to have them there but Jeep didn't include them for the export WJ. Would any kind of reflective adhesive tape suffice?

I doubt it considering the bottom portion of the taillight is a reflector... Plus the fact they're brighter than taillights, so a headlight cutting through fog to illuminate a reflector is definately not going to be brighter than the taillight...

huh, all of a sudden my first reply is finally up...

I'm not sure if the taillights are wired for it, but I did a quad taillight mod to my jeep. If you put bright bulbs in there and don't wire it with your brake light, but rather your running lamps, it may be good enough? That spot was meant for them anyway... You could even wire a remote switch to them if you don't want them on all the time with the running lamps...
