Amelie - I used 5K from V-Led's on my gauges to match my interior, it looks the exact same as Gus' color. I don't know what is causing the blue tint to it, but it's definitely blue.
Probably just cameras as usual

Was it hard removing the gauge cluster?

Re: Gauge cluster upgrade

My bad, my phrasing was off. I meant that MY gauge cluster was blue with the 5K.

It's easy to remove, just pull the trim piece above the steering column and remove the screws holding the cluster in, then pull out.

Our Jeeps are damn near the same age. How many LED's were required?

5 for the gauges, like 12 or more for the indicator lights

Just the Brights indicator. What I got from V-Leds only comes in pairs, so I used the one remaining on the Brights so I can definitely see when they're on.

Nice, I was hoping a resistor wasn't required when replacing all of those

Re: Gauge cluster upgrade

Nope, no resistor needed, which is awesome. I think there must be a blue film somewhere, my LEDs are Cool White and it came out with a blue tint. I don't mind it right now. Really easy to do, pop the piece off above the steering wheel and below the cluster, remove 4 phillips head screws, pull it out and disconnect the wiring harness, and it's out. I also removed the negative cable to the battery, I read somewhere to do that. If ya don't get the proper light coverage (Mine are 360 deg.) just turn the base/bulb upside down from how ya took it out and it'll fix it.

Re: Gauge cluster upgrade

Yes, it's such an easy mod, really cheap, and it looks great! I recommend everyone do it.
The blue film seems to be integrated into the gauges and not removable. Although I really wanted the white gauges look, the blue looks really nice too so I'm not going to risk breaking anything over this one.

Re: Gauge cluster upgrade

I agree, and that sucks about the film, but I agree, knowin my luck I'd break something trying to remove the film.
