HI my name is Mike and I am a very proud new owner of a 2004 Grand Cherokee. I have a question about installing a OEM hitch. I noticed on some of the aftermarket hitches there was a cut out on the left side for the hoses and wiring for the gas tank, but on the OEM hitch there is no cut out. Does the hitch just slide up under the hoses and wiring?

yes it does, there a bolt right up. no modifications.

I added the mopar hitch to my 04 WJ a couple years back. To be honest, I don't remember having to deal with any wires or hoses from the gas tank. To me the mopar looks better than any of the aftermarket hitches that tend to hang below the bumper cladding. It cost a little more and the installation is a little more involved (not too bad really) but it is worth it in the end. You would have to get a hold of a rivet gun that could handle the plastic rivets.

Looks Great! This is another project I want to do. Whats the price difference between oem and the guset vs aftermarket?
