OK everyone...the parts are IN! The original thread is here:
http://www.jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=41624

It's going to be awhile before I can find time to remove the rear bumper to install the new step pad, and I'm going to do some grille surround painting when the weather allows and then install a mesh back, but the center caps and the rear wiper are on. I can't say enough about how great these came out! JNL Hydrographics FTW!

I laid the chrome surround over this just for visual effect...the final will be a matching dark khaki pearlcoat one:

I'll get more grille and step pad shots once everything is installed.

Thank you gentlemen....can't wait to get it installed...but you can't rush paint. I really want to re-do my current grille surround before I install. It's got one little spot on it that's driving me nuts.

Oh yeah...that's already "in stock" at the Tony Garagemahal. Once I have everything ready to go together I might bother you about how you have yours fastened.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the grill and center caps!

Tony, that is sick! Nicely done, can't wait to see the finished grille

Looking good tony! Can't wait for the install pics. Let's get this show on the road lol.

What's wrong with the pattern Dave picked out?!

...and the grille is in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I re-painted the grille surround, so this took a few days. I also added black mesh behind the grille to match the stuff I used in the lower fascia. The hydrograpic'ed inner grille matches my REAL carbon fiber license plate frame pretty damn good!

I LOVE the new look...and now it's time to pic whore...better pics to come once the sun comes back out:

Amazing! That looks so much better! Now put those tow hooks back on lol

#20 ·
Nah...tow hooks are staying off and actually for sale. I think I remember you said you might want them?

That's the only chrome thing left. I like the fact that it breaks up the lower facia, but I'm not quite sure if I want to change it up or not. I am going to try to remove it...and If I can, I might wrap it to get an idea of what it would look like dipped.

I can't say enough about the job Frank did...

#23 ·
Oh that's right...you're getting an eff Juan fiddy. Thanks dude! I am really happy with the outcome

That looks so so so much better!! I can say it now. The way that billet was flush with the outer grill never did it for me but I just couldn't say anything.Yea yea I know but sometimes I do know when to keep my mouth shut. Now you got that 3D look back and she looks in your face mean! Great job bro.:thumbsup:

Thanks buddy! I'm much happier with this set up...it does make it look meaner. Hopefully tomorrow I can get out and get some real pics out in the sun. The pics above do this no justice. It took me long enough, but the color matched grille without the billet inserts is much better looking with everything else I've done.

Lookin' sweet!

So today I finally had some time after work to rip my rear bumper off...here are the results!

Damn Tony, she's looking fine! Looks like Frank does some amazing work! I particularly like that grille! Hmm now you have me thinking about my rear step pad, its fading bad..... but it looks like a PITA to swap out. Hmm.... Looks great bud, I gotta believe this is one of the best looking WJs on the road today.

PS. I see you have gone totally LED, I have that same work light!

#32 ·
Yeah dude...all LED all the time...hhahaha.

I've got a "new" step pad for sale in case you're interested. I bought it about a year ago, wrapped it in DiNoc and installed it, so it's never seen the sun. You can either keep it wrapped or peel off the di-noc. I have it posted up in the For Sale section.

The rear bumper cover isn't THAT bad. Maybe I'm getting good at it, but you're looking at 2 bolts behind each rear tire, 2 screws near the tail lights, and the rest are those push-in fasteners. 3 down each wheel well, about 5 under the tailgate weatherstrip, and maybe 4 underneath by the gas tank skid. After that's out, the bumper cover pops right off. Reverse the process and you're good to go. I literally did this in about an hour last night after I got home from work. Just have new push-in fasteners handy. You're bound to break a few. The first time I did this, it took about 3 hours because I didn't know what I was looking for as far as connection points, but once you know, it's easy. The two bolts behind each rear wheel are kinda hidden, so you really need to look for them once the inner fenderwell shroud is folded out of the way.
