I'm new here and looking for some advice

Hey! I have a 99' Grand Cherokee Limited with the 4.7L V8. I am looking to spend a little money on the vehicle this summer. It is currently all stock but here's what I'm looking to do:

  • I'd love to do something with the front bulbs/headlamps. The lights on my WJ don't have that clean, crisp, and bright look to them that some of the newer or aftermarket WJs have. I'd love to get that going first. What does that entail? I was also wondering what I could do for the taillights as well? Are there modifications as extensive?

  • It seems that a cold air intake from K&N (57 or 77 series) seems the way to go as far as intake's are concerned. I think this will likely be something I do.

  • In the same vein as the cold air intake, it seems like superchips is the way to as far as a primary performance modification. This will also be something I do.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance for any input you might have!

This is an epic bump! But here's what I've done so far. I have the K&N installed (I got a good deal on the 77 so I just went with that). I also got the Flowmaster 50 installed. She sounds great and I am very happy with the exhaust note now. I went with new rotors, Akebono calipers, and new pads. I am very happy with how she feels now. Throttle response is a little improved but the noise is really what I was after.

I decided that I'm going to keep the brush guard and tail light covers on there. I don't like how the WJ limited looks without it unless you fit a chrome grill on there to replace the color matched one. But, I'd like to explore HID lighting. I don't want to change the housings out as I quite like the limited housings. I was just wondeinrg about the degree of difficulty in swapping out bulbs and how much this was going to cost me. Do I have to take apart my housings?

What if I just wanted to make my fog lights functional? Since they are next to useless right now, what would it take to make them nice and bright?

Thanks guys! You've been very helpful.

Ive done two exhausts on 4.7s and they seem to respond
more in torque than hp. After I did the exhaust I was actually dissapointed a bit cause it seemed like I actually
lost some in the 0 to 60 department on 2 different 4.7s
with 2 different exhausts. But........ I tow alot, boat, trailers, etc and when I got to my first hill thats when I became impressed. It would pull longer harder and faster than it ever did before

I'll try and snap a few pictures of the brush guard up front and also the rear bumper. I'm sorry for the delay, I haven't been on the site in a while.

I'm not so sure I like the look of the halo projectors on a Jeep, its a BMW thing that had been adopted by the fast and furious crowd and has made its way into the after market. It seems to jap scrap for me. I like the look of OEM 2004 black housing like these....

Match that up with a set of tinted tails and do the quad mod and I think the look is much cleaner and stealth looking. You can always do an HID conversion with out the projectors on the 04 head lights. I'll likely go this route as well as I just picked up my 2002 Grand last weekend.

Someone mentioned there is an affiliate who supplies tinted tails. Is there a shareable link please? I'd like to check them out myself.

I just got owned by the blend door issue. I felt my heat waning and weak air flow on the passenger side but thought that I could stick out for this winter. The other day, it was 45F out here and when I got in the Jeep in the AM, I was freezing my tits off. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when it actually gets cold. I ran the diagnostic and it spit out codes 54 and 56. It's time for the heatertreater mumbo jumbo this weekend. I'm also going to gorilla glue my weather stripping since it's falling apart.

Wish me luuuck!
