new owner, need help finding parts

Okay, I just bought a 04 special edition grand cherokee... I have found all the parts I want, I have only run into one problem... a grille guard, or cattle guard, brush guard. Depending on what you wanna call it. Problem is, every time I find one and ask, it only fits laredos. And they said would not fit mine. I want one that covers the head lights and everything, not just one lil bull guard. If anyone has found one and can offer any assistance, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

Re: new owner, need help finding parts

congratulations on the jeep and welcome

i have read this allot, you look on eBay or car site and they said it will not fit the SE right?

i believe it will fit right up to were the tow hooks and under skid bolt on, but not 100% on that, wait for someone to chime in.

do you have tow hooks or a front skid on your jeep>
can i ask what else you are doing to the jeep?

Like straty said welcome and congrats.
I have an 04 grand cherokee special edition aswell. I was faced with the same problems looking for a brushguard. I ended up buying a used one of someone on another forum. It was for a laredo, but it did infact fit my SE with no problems. I don't know why they list on Ebay that they wont fit SE models. The only thing I heard in regards to this is because they have tow hooks. My SE didn't have tow hooks, no do any of the other SEs I see on the road. You can't have the tow hooks and the brushguard on together anyways.
the link below has pics of my WJ and the brushguard install. let me know if you have anyother quesitons

To help in your parts finding, a Special Edition is really just a Laredo with body color cladding and an options list included. Most parts listings will only give a choice for Laredo and Limited, so choose accordingly.

Wow thanks the feedback, my jeep just happens to be silver also, so now I got to see how its gonna look . I'm excited now. But do you have to remove the bumper to put the brackets on?? I don't mind doing it. But would prefer not to. . . And one more question. When I installed my hids, my outter parking lights, the orange ones next to turn signals, stopped working, the turn signals still work fine. Anyone know what would cause this?

yea the bumper has to come off but its not hard hear is teh info on it, http://wjjeeps.com/grilles/grillesrem.htm#FASCIAREMC you have a type C bumper.
if you want to run tow hooks you will have to be create with those bumpers and get longer bolts since they mount on the tow hooks. or can get the types that mount to the front skid like mine below form westin but dont get the headlight cover

again straty is right. You will need to remove the bumper to install the mounting brackets. It was pretty easy, I was nervous myself. But just did it. Follow the link that straty posted. The only issue is the plastic rivets in the wheel wells that hold the bumper on, you will need to break those. You can get yourself some more plastic rivets and a rivet gun, or you can do what I did. I just used zip ties, and cut them real short after I installed them, if I didn't say anything you wouldn't notice them, and would think that's how it should be.
As far as the HIDs. 1 shouldn't have anything to do with other. I installed my HIDs and all lights worked fine right after and still do. I am thinking it's either a coindince that one they stopped working, or maybe something wasn't connected back right.
