New style projector lights question

Hey guys, did anybody try the attached style lights yet:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/99-04-JEEP-G...sories&vxp=mtr

I am trying to decide between gen3 and the attached lights. Did search and found only one tread from April. Will appreciate any info.
Also i found so many different sellers on ebay selling gen3. Who should I use - any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Re: New style projector lights question

They look nice but they seem to have quality issues. Check out some o the sellers negative feedbacks. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...s=negative_180

Re: New style projector lights question

Save up and buy the gen 3 with the ccfl halos! much better and you will be happier! those led halos are so dim that you can barely see them at night, let alone during the day if thats the look your going for! gen 3's look the best in my opinion!!
just my 2 cents...

Re: New style projector lights question

Thanks guys!

I assumed they are not the best, because nobody was discussing them.
I will look for gen3. They look better, clean and clossest ones to OEM.The way I understood, I can use my original bulbs on gen3, correct? Can anyone please recommend good seller for gen3? Thanks again!

Re: New style projector lights question

Sorry, forgot to attach the link. Anyone ever used CarId? Are they good? Here is:
http://www.carid.com/2004-jeep-grand...ts-315161.html

There are some better prices on ebay for the CCFL gen3, but I am not sure if they are all the same quality.

Re: New style projector lights question

the lights you posted are gen 1. so there not a new style

The Gen I has three LEDs in upper corner near the grill.
The Gen II has a row of five oval lights along the bottom.
The Gen III looks most like stock with a bar along the bottom and 3 LEDs for the side turn signals.

gen 1 and 2 also have old projectors used in the so the light aim is not the best compared to the gen3 lights

the last link you posted is gen 3 and is the good one. there all made the same place in china pretty much so find the best price and get it.

x3 on the CCFL they bright and will last

Re: New style projector lights question

CarID, has a nice inventory, but otherwise expensive. I bought my "Smoked" Halo Gen3 Projector lights from Dash-Z racing(dashzracing.com) for $170, which is about 30-50$ cheaper than other sites. They came within a week, or maybe 2 don't recall. Only thing though is if you want Halo's(like a BMW,or bright in the day so you can use as DRL), do NOT buy normal headlights. Buy CCFL ones, worth the money. Here's what my headlights look like;

And yes, you do use the same bulbs for aftermarket headlights, though it is suggested that HID's look better with projector headlights. Best of luck on your decision!

These pictures are with the Halo's wired in(they are on, but not bright at all) I recently just disconnected them so they aren't even on, and it looks much better :-)

Re: New style projector lights question

yeah idk.. what bothers me is the LED:HALOrojector all in one sentence.. looks like its worth as a paper weight. u need to retrofit "real" projectors either from acura,MB,BMW ect.... thats what i did to my WRX sent out the headlamps the fitted TL/RL projectors and paid an arm and leg but i got what i paid for..

Re: New style projector lights question

I can recommend CARiD wholeheartedly as I have just purchased the same lights you have linked.
The short of the long is that I brought CCFL's off ebay from eaglemotorsports and they sent me only1 x headlight that I hadn't ordered with broken accessories. Had to escalate the case to get a result. I had to pay postage of $137 to get back $368.00.
CARiD sent me headlights within 5 days (CA to Darwin, Aus) but sent the black instead of the chrome. Their solution was simple and painless, stating that I keep the black CCFL's and they have sent me the chrome without charge as originally ordered.
No if's or butts considering the distances involved. Yes I paid more for them but what peice of mind it's been.....

Will post photos as soon as they arrive

Re: New style projector lights question

People can say whatever about "retrofitting" halos/projectors from Beemers and such all they want. I have a Jeep, it is not an Audi, BMW, Acura, etc. I roll with Chrome Gen III Projectors/Halos with LEDs and I run HIDs. I got mine (and other things) from CARiD. I love my Jeep and I'm proud of the work I've done to my Jeep, it is a Jeep. I don't see the need to make it look like an Audi, Beemer, etc.
