Nice tails! You've GOT to be getting better output out of these over stock.

I've heard the same about the yellow fogs, but still could not bring myself to do it. I like the white light too much.
Still getting used to this mod thing, I almost just edited your post instead of quoting it..... anyway

Yes, definitely better light output! The previous owner had put silverstars in the reverse bulbs, but I think I will be putting in some higher power LEDs. I am also considering going the anti-amber route, it looks like I would be ok under MN law.

I wasn't sure about yellow fogs at first, but after seeing others with them I started to like em.

And yes, I am looking forward to snow!

Re: New tails and fog bulbs

how is the reverse light output being that your turn signal and reverse lens sections are smoked a tad bit? Im really considering this mod after i get this jeep running properly. Also they sell the 3rd brake light in LED also as a kit on ebay.

Good eye, they are smoked slightly. Reverse output is probably comparable to stock, I had silverstars there and there are silverstar bulbs in these. They take 1156 bulbs instead of the 3157 like the stock housings. I plan on putting in some brighter LED's, but for now they are good. Better than my old housings, something was wrong in them and the reverse didn't always work. Now they work every time! Definitely my favorite visual mod so far! I do also plan on getting an LED 3rd brake light to complete the look.

Thanks again Bill I love them! I couldn't resist when I saw you had them for sale and I have no regrets. I have gotten a few compliments on them, even my wife didn't give me crap! (which I take as a compliment )

Thats a sharp looking SRT you have sir!

@01Grand:

What kind of yellow bulb are you using or did you go with an overlay? Like TJXJWJ said you can't beat white most of the time. I love my yellow fogs though, I contemplated on getting a yellow overlay in combination with a yellow emitting bulb for the yellowest light I could get but didn't like the yellow look of the fog overlay during the day.

Nice LED tails by the way, they look sick.

@Bill38Jeep:
When the hell did you get an SRT8? Prices must be coming down since the introduction of the WK2 lol

Yellow 9005 bulbs from Amazon, I think I posted a link earlier for someone. I agree, a yellow overlay wouldn't look good in the day or with the lights off.

So are you considering a 3000k HID sometime down the road to replace your yellow halogen bulbs?

Yep, my plan right now is to get projector headlamps and fogs, and do 6000K HIDs in the low beams and 3000K HIDs in the fogs. I liked some of the pictures I saw of them this way but wanted to make sure I liked it first so I started with the yellow bulbs.

Sounds good, What projector fogs have you looked at so far? I know the ones on Ebay for the WJ's don't exactly give the best output. Have you thought of retrofitting a fog lamp?

Also how is your wiring setup? I know one wire harness is enough and then you add the fog wiring harness and there are just wires everywhere lol

Re: New tails and fog bulbs

I haven't looked to close yet, until recently I was only planning on doing the headlights. I will be looking around soon as to where I can get good fogs. I havent thought about retrofitting them, I will have to check that out too.
