Project Reach

I own a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Freedom Edition and my exterior mods will be happening in the next few months, I decided to create a build thread:
-New fender flares
-4" Rough Country Lift
-33"tires
-4xGuard rock sliders
Will be the first few mods

Yeah it's a daily driver and for Florida a rough country lift is great for trail riding not climbing rocks or getting stuck in deep rivers it'll do good in eglin AFb plus it's afordable.

Re: Project Reach

I like it man, I am considering some of there stuff for my JK.

I run actually ordered the Interco Irok radials in 34x17 for a my 2 door and would LOVE to see them on a WJ. They slung that deep Texas clay like champs. YOu going with arms on your 4" kit or a TC drop?

Well... for what its worth:

The RXC site says their 4" lift fits 31" tires... I run a frankenlift with OME HD 3.5"s after you do the isolators, and I rub only in reverse it seems with my 31.5" Cooper ATPs. This seemed to have only started when I put the MOAB rims on, as the Overland wheels didnt. (This isand I have towed my 5,000lb JK with it no prob on flat Texas highways)

If you are getting fenders, then you could put a GOOD franken lift together at the 3.5" (32" tire) range without the arms and save some coin while still running those tires or bigger depending on the fenders/trim (Ive read the nicer ones allow 35"s on a 3" lift). If you have a v8 you also have the 3.73 gears, so you would have no problem running 35's with some nice fibergla$$ fenders.

I am considering RXC spacers though to take me to 4.25" high and using a Terraflex Transfer Case drop kit that I think sells for $40? I think that means I wont need a DS, and my wheels are pretty well centered so Im probably keeping the stock arms and just using spacers to increase track width. This one is my DD driver, but it is PRETTY CAPABLE on the rocks so far with Cooper ATPs, extended length arms and 12psi.

Zone makes links. RXC makes links. Terraflex makes AWESOME front discos with clips. The ADDCO swaybar is an awesome $135 to spend, and I personally need to get another A ARM (Thinking IRO) to combat the rotted/rusted factory unit. How many miles are on your rig?

I have 142,000 on my WJ I'm looking at putting the Bushwacker fender flares for WJ's on my jeep because the add 2" of additional width in the fender.
