Smile Re: projectors...a waste or good??

I have yet to actually wire mine to the jeep (sitting on the floor next to me - going to try to do so tomorrow if my wire slice equpipment i ordered arrives). But I took all the LED and Halo powers wires and twisted them together and wire stripped the ends, and put them into a male connector.

I then took the grounds for both halo and LED wires and put them all together into a male connector.

With the thought process of tapping one wire into the daytime running lights (which are always on) and using the electricity from it to power my LEDS and HALO (so they would always be on when the daytime running lights are on - which I can cut on without turning my low beams on too).

The best way would be to wire a switch to control them, but I am going the easy/lazy route.

Then connect the black/ground to a ground wire (or screw to metal frame should work as well).

Here is a decent how to on how to do the installation. But he skips the details i mention above.

I will post back here with pics - my success and/or failures.

Hopefully tomorrow will be alot of progress and I will have Gen3 headlights installed WITH hid's

Re: projectors...a waste or good??

I tapped my halos into my parking lights, and the LEDs into the signals. You can check my post here http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=12463

Black...
Mine are black...they still have a little chrome in them for reflection on the parking lamp part.

Re: projectors...a waste or good??

Yes sir you do...not sure how bad the cops are about it in your neck of the woods, but if you think you'll be okay, go for it...looks so much better IMHO.

I did exactly what was recommended in the above link and could not be happier with the results and the match.

Re: projectors...a waste or good??

they're not bad. I used to have 5% all around but i couldn't see shit and i did it myself so one window started to peel after about a year...so I removed them all. Now i'm just looking to match the factory windows. It's all about finding the time I can drop my car off for a couple of hours during the day...between work and life...it's hard.
