Turns out I did a lot more damage to the rear hatch of the 01WJ while digging out from the blizzard yesterday than I originally thought. Stopped off at a local salvage yard on the way home today and purchased the rear glass off an 04' complete with hinges for $150. Got home and removed the shower curtain from the back of the WJ and soon as I started cleaning it up realized that I hit the boat with the hatch and not the window. Pretty good dent to the right of the window lock mechanism. Unfortunately the point of impact is right in front of a dbl wall of steel and there's no way to access the backside without cutting that inner layer. So I pounded out the lower edge of the window opening as best as I could and got the replacement glass to seal against the rubber molding.
Going to take a real good look at it once the weather warms up to see if I can pull the dent out well enough to reuse the hatch. If not, I'll probably have to go with a replacement hatch. Saw a few black ones listed on car-parts.com in the $350 to $500 range.

i kinda know what ur goin thru.. some young idiot was kind enough to shoot mah back window while iwas driving down main street .. so yeah all the clean up of the glass, finding a replacement, and putting it in.. but at least they arent stationary glass where you have to get it cut out and sealed in.. i went to the junkyard, pulled the window in 5 min and $20 and 10 min drive home later the glass was replaced, but the kids jaw bone wasnt as easy.... haha. that happend a few years ago and i just recently found a couple shards wen i was doing my quad tail light mod on the ZJ... good luck either finding a new hatch or fixing that one..
