Re: Reverse light mods

I do pull into the driveway headfirst, but I back out. I could turn around every single time I leave but it's a little tight. It's just easier for me to back straight out, especially now that I have HID reverse lights.

The light is scattered, of course, they're not in a projector housing like my headlights, but the difference in output greatly makes up for it.

Re: Reverse light mods

I just installed high beam 9005 silverstar ultras in my reverse on my wj. Very easy mod only took me about 45 minutes. I'll check out the light output tonight to see how they look and post a pic

@lll2for3lll: How do you like the 6K V-LED for the interior? Do they give off a nice white or are they too blue?
They are white and blue but more white than blue. Very very very bright. There is also 5k V-LEDS offer if you don't like the blue hint. I like to have the blue hint because it gives a unique and exotic appearance.

Make sure you get High Power (HP). And these things are damn bright.

Re: Reverse light mods

Here's what I have.

Front map lights:
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...-p8200027.html

Rear map lights:
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...68086-1-2.html

Footwells (I didn't go too bright down there but they are high power to prevent blowouts from voltage spikes):
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/C...81133-1-2.html

Glove box (Not High power but I will replace with high power if they blow. So far so good:
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/C...81039-1-2.html

License Plate (Not high power. I've been thinking about replacing these with the LEDs I have in the glove box):
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/G...38587-1-2.html

Reverse (My favorite. The brightest 3157 they make. Bright but I do have 5% on top of 20% tint.):

Does the 9005 bulb fit in the same hole as the bulb holder for the 3157 stock bulb? If all I need are 9005 bulbs and plug ends, I can do this when I get home today!

Re: Reverse light mods

He probably had to shave one of the tabs down unless he followed that one HID reverse guide and cut out the base and just used silicone to hold it on the frame of the 3157. Sounds like a pretty cool mod though.

Re: Reverse light mods

I kind of did the same as they did the HID mod for the wj. I popped the socket out of the reverese slot. I then popped the center of the socket out and drilled it out so that the 9005 bulb would pop in the hole and fit snug which it did! I then tapped 9005 socket ends with wire leads to the black and purple wire of the taillight harness. Pooped the sockets back in and that was it!

Re: Reverse light mods

It's not very hard to add the HID's in the reverse. I made a how to on here somewhere too.

I love the bickering over mods sometimes! It's your jeep do what you want!!!!

Anyway, I didn't go with the HID's in mine, I added backups to my foor rack. It all depends on the jeep.

Hope it all goes well for you.
