Question Thinking of switching headlamp housings

This is the color of my Jeep.

Do you think a housing like this one would go with the color scheme or should I stick with the chrome I have? I would like to find a chrome one without an amber side marker or I could just heat mine up and remove it.

or this and removing the amber

Re: Thinking of switching headlamp housings

Just my personal opinion, I've never really liked the dark inside headlights. Maybe I'm just mesmerized by the sparkly chrome..... Why not Gen3 projectors?

BTW, I'm sure Tony would +rep you about 1000 times if you got rid of the amber, I think he feels as strongly about that as he does

, I already have a custom projector setup but I thought it might stand out a little more with a black housing.

Ah ok, I guess it depends on how the projector looks. I still like a little chrome though. (insert "oohhh shiiiiiiiinnnnnyyyyyy smiliey here)

This is an example of the projector

The shroud that goes around the projector

I'm with chrome too. Not too much of a fan of the murdered out look but to each their own.

I'm not aiming for the so called "murdered out" look. I just wanted a headlight housing that maybe accented the projector setup. Maybe I'll just stick with chrome but de-amber it like Tony.

Re: Thinking of switching headlamp housings

I have the same color (Patriot Blue) and the black goes well with our color, better than the chrome IMO. I prefer the second picture (iKon Motoring) over the third (Eagle). Plus, there is no amber in it when you get it, so you don't have to worry about the possibility of damaging the housings when to remove them. Just my 0.02. Also, it will make the projectors stand out.

I think the dark would go good with the darker color of your Jeep

Re: Thinking of switching headlamp housings

I'll take the foot out of my mouth so to speak. Turns out my Columbia edition came with the black headlights, not chrome.
