What is this?

Ok, so this has been 'missing' since I bought the thing two years ago. I noticed it when we got it home from the dealership, but didn't think too much of it. When I was unloading stuff from my friend's Denali today, I noticed that the strap to pull the hatch down was in the same area as this spot. So, hopefully one of you fellow WJ owners can show/tell me.... what the heck broke off of this spot?!

Re: What is this?

I am guessing that there are a few "retards" in the Who Dat Nation who can tell you exactly what that is and what hides behind the missing cover.

It is the access point to the emergency unlock/lock switch lever for the liftgate.

LOL... meh sometimes crap gets the best of me.
And thanks for that.. I've been wondering WTF it was for years! Wonder where I can find a replacement to cover that ugly spot?

Re: What is this?

A local salvage yard would be my 1st choice, followed by the local dealership or justforjeeps.

Re: What is this?

Hmm salvage yard is a good idea.. I assume it's just a little tab that pops on/off.. shouldn't cost much, if anything.

Go to the stealership, and "test drive" one... you may find one in your pocket after...
