Question Wind Deflectors

I'm looking into getting some soon and wondered if you guys preferred the in-channel version or non-in-channel version of the wind deflectors. I personally like the look of the non-in-channel since it covers the entire span of the rear window as I think the in-channel looks kind of goofy how it stops a little more than half-way along the length of the rear window since that's how the window was designed.

In-Channel:

Non-In-Channel:

Re: Wind Deflectors

I love the look of the in-channel, except for that it doesn't cover the panel behind the rear windows. It looks weird to me. However, I would probably buy the in-channels over the stick-on.

That's what I was thinking. I wish there was a mod you do to get rid of that rear panel and have a full sized opening window. Damn child safety!

Re: Wind Deflectors

I thought I saw someone on cardomain that had done it but I must have been dreaming 'cause it looks impossible to do with the cutout for the wheel well.

Well that kind of sucks. There a way to disable the child safety on the rear passenger windows so they go all the way down?

I'm pretty sure there's no way to get it all the way down. For vehicles with shorter wheelbases like the WJ, the window comes within inches of hitting the cutout for the wheel well from the factory. In order to roll it all the way down, you would have to cut a large area out of the window, which would probably be exposed when the window was rolled all the way up.

Well that does suck. I can see your point though.

Re: Wind Deflectors

Wonder if there's a way to "mod" the non-in channel to in-channel? hmmm

Re: Wind Deflectors

Preferring that type...I can't get over the lack of coverage on that little side window with the in-channel ones. It bothers me...almost like orange reflectors bother me...hehehhe.
