lol.,this is an old thread., I only recently started coming back here since I almost traded away my WJ but decided she's been too good to me and kept her. Got a bit of the bug back in me :-) I don't have pics but if you follow the advice here, you'll see it's easier than it sounds. Gotta get in there. Good luck!!!

Re: WJ reverse camera? 206WJ help, I know you have one!

Just a bit interested of how peoples in there (US) will install it...
We've got a lot of snow, cold (-30C), (muddy)slash, ... so, it's a bit challenging, to first, find a camera which will stand for the cold weather and if it does, would stand for the washing as well...
I actually have a couple of different cameras on a shelf at home. And as soon as I got some time, I should put it to somewhere. I'm using quite a lot a trailer, so it's gonna be a huge help to use a camera to hit the trailer hitch to ?? (don't know the word... but the "part" on a trailers side.. we call it like "pulling head"...)
The only reasonable place would be just above plate, underneath the tail gates handle. I haven't checked yet whether there's space for it, that's one reason why I'd be interested of installed cameras...
And... thread is old, but... car is too...

Geez! Children!!! hahahahaha

I don't have all my pictures since this was a long ass time ago. This is the first way I did it, to get the wiring to the license plate.

Overview... Of the area with wires everywhere!

Came up the A pillar, and under the headliner and into the hatch through this rubber boot.

Had to get through here, At the time I didn't want to connect new RCA cable to it, so I drilled a hole...

You can barely see the wire running down the very far edge of the door then into the License plate area.

On a side note there is a reverse + signal at the rear view mirror so you don't have to run a lead all the way back. It makes it easy to do this too.

Thanks for the pics.
Forgot to set this thread to "follow up", so didn't realize, something happened here... and on the other hand I'm on the other side of the earth now...

Nice to see, how wires have been pulled too... view in the mirror must be handy? I've got an external display, which is still waiting for an installation...
But now the most important thing is missing, or it's that nearly "black" pic - where is the camera?
