2wd Grand Cherokee Questions

Am thinking hard about a 2wd GC and have some questions .

From what iv'e found out the suspention is the same they just put a solid axle inplace of the diff.

So ...is there any way of lowering the suspention?

I want a 99 up to get the inside spare under floor storage.

4.0 leather and sunroof would be good for me.

Has anyone here lowered a GC?

Nor knuckle draggin just a little.

With 17"chromes and street touring tires it should be a good cruiser!

2WD is the same suspension setup as the 4WD, both are solid axle's.

You can get lower shocks and springs, I just can't tell you what ones exactly. They are very easy to change.

2005 and up is the WK and that's the one that has the storage in the rear under the pannels. The 1999-2004 is the WJ and has the spare tire in there.

It may be hard to find a 4.0 with leather, since most 4.0's have cloth interior. You could easily get a leather kit, or replacment seats to change to leather though.

Re: 2wd Grand Cherokee Questions

From what i see on autotrader.com the spare is in the floor in 99 up.

I can pick up leather seats easy but would rather have stock, but do like the 95 era pillow seats.

Got a while to find one.

Autotrader sems a bit off then. It moved back to under the jeep in 2005-current, those models have storage compartments in the cargo area.

The WJ seats are by far the best imo. I have been in WK, WJ, ZJ, and XJ's the WJ seats areby far the best compaired to all of them.

You can get a complete interior from a wrecking yard out of a limited that would upgrade you to stock leather, and even heated seats too.

Re: 2wd Grand Cherokee Questions

That is correct for pictures, but the left doesn't open, the middle (WJ) has the spare under there, and the right (WK) is the only one that has compartments there.

Also I forgot to say that the Wk has an independent front suspention on all models.

Re: 2wd Grand Cherokee Questions

Don't get a 4.0, the 4.7 drinks almost exactly the same amount of gas, and has a nice little jump in power.
