Question Addco Sway Bars

While I've read that most owners replace the rear and have had amazing results with a 700% increase in resistance touted, But for those that have replaced the front as well, any noticeable improvements?

Re: Addco Sway Bars

I am going to be doing the front soon ( i have already done the rear).

My gf owes me $360 in xmas presents, i am just deciding about how shall i spend it

When I do buy it, I will likely get it from Nick @ Kolak - he has it for $220.

Sounds good playa, Let me know how it goes, I appreciate it.

How long have you had the rear bar installed and how do you like it so far?

Re: Addco Sway Bars

Rear bar was almost my first jeep MOD.

I didn't like the amount of body roll it had when I first got the jeep. When I took a corner about 5mph over the interstate off ramp posted speed limit i thought it was going to flip. But after replacing the shocks, checking the springs (were OK) and I had the rear bar installed i feel a lot more confident. Now i blaze off the interstate about 10mph over the posted speed limit hehe

With some rims and tires i am sure you could keep it stuck to the pavement real good!

Should get the front bar next week i hope.

Any certain springs you would recommend?

I really like this guy's description and install guide for the sway bars

Re: Addco Sway Bars

I am just rolling with stockers right now...

But i would imagine choosing springs is no different than asking people what is there favorite shock is.

All personal opinion which is also based partly based off the jeeps purpose and driving characteristics you are looking for.

My jeep is my daily driver, which i also use for work. Sometimes traveling up to one or two hundred miles on a single day when necessary. also Little to no offroading, so I am looking more for a decent handling, tight steering jeep.

I think i would have a little stiffer springs if I was to "spring" for some new ones :P

Sounds good, I was just curious of what brand of spring you might have preferred.

Re: Addco Sway Bars

Swaybars on on my list of things for the WJ. I did front and rear hotchkis sport swaybars on my ZJ. Wow, what a difference that was! Not sure how much of a difference the front bar made by itself since I did both at the same time. All I can say is the Jeep handles way better and stays pretty much flat around corners. I think the ride got a bit rougher, but not enough to worry about for me. I was being tailgated by a guy in an Z71 Avalanche in town and when we got to the next city block (ie. 90 deg right hand turn) I took it at 25mph (no big deal anymore) and accelerated off like a sports car. He tried to do the same and wallowed clear out in the other lane of traffic. He about took out a suburban and probably crapped his pants. That made them worthwhile right there.

Re: Addco Sway Bars

Yeah, I was fast and he was furious. Nothing annoys me more than a tailgater, so I usually try and ditch them asap. Thats why I love my Jeep! She likes to be driven hard. I have way too much fun in the snow or a curvy gravel road. Nothing better than dirt tracking it in a Jeep! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I've yet to get a ticket. Then again I rarely do stupid stuff that might get me a ticket. Ok, that's not true. I just don't do it when there is anyone else around.
