Bilstein HD shocks upgrade - Awesome!

I finally installed the Bilstein shocks on the Jeep and made by biweekly trek from Bay Area to Reno through the Sierras. I couldn't be happier.

I have used these shocks on other cars and been happy with them, but they simply transformed the handling on the Jeep. The difference in the curves and twisties was incredible, and it seems like the ride over the broken pavement was much more controlled as well. The other half who normally does not notice anything auto related commented about not getting all nauseous on this trip.

Dollar for dollar, this has to be the best money I've spent on the Jeep so far. Highly recommended upgrade and very easy DIY project.

Re: Bilstein HD shocks upgrade - Awesome!

Looks like Bilstein makes shocks for lifted WJ's and they have them for different heights. It's a 5100 instead of HD.

I Googled "bilstein 5100 for 04 jeep grand cherokee" and got several hits.

Re: Bilstein HD shocks upgrade - Awesome!

I have just purchased a front and rear set of Bilstein HD shocks and am planning to install them this week. I will let you know how much difference they make in the ride. I currently pull a 10 ft. tandem axle work trailer every day and I sure notice the speed bumps and the pot holes with the stock ones. I am looking forward to the swap

Re: Bilstein HD shocks upgrade - Awesome!

I paid $300 for all 4 shocks from Summit racing.
www.summitracing.com
BSN-24-029636 is the part number for the fronts
BSN-24-029643 for the rears

These and swaybars...definitely worth the $$.

I picked up my shocks from Tire Rack at www.tirerack.com
I paid $258 for front and back without taxes. to my door the price was $373 american. I live in Canada, so there were shipping and duty on the order, but is was half price to what I would have paid in Canada
