Re: Decided to change things up, and go a different route...

The shadow figure has arrived...ahhahahah. NICELY done Platinum! My decision to go street on this Jeep came from having had 2 previously to this one that were well set up for off-road but were rarely off roaded. I enjoyed the shiz out of it, but I'm a city boy at heart. You're still rockin some very aggressive rubber, so right now, you might be able to go more "hybrid". A street jeep with some mild off-road ability. It's an option at least.
Nice job on the suspension parts too! That paint looks perfect!

In the end, it's all about setting up to do best what you enjoy the most. For me, I enjoy flying up an on ramp and zippin' past ever other "suv" on highway. I enjoy being able to throw slightly more aggressive tires on it with stock wheels and get around in the winter with no worries. I enjoy killin' my dad's SS silverado.

Next up for me is a 70mm throttle body coming from our friend FlyinRyan, and I still have Flashpaq on my list of things to do...along with some carbon fiber dipped parts once I win the raffle...hahahha.

If reps are what you ultimately want, save up some $$$ and watch the used parts boards and ebay. They totally change the look of the ride. Plus, you can keep what you have to bolt on in the winter months. Hard combo to beat!

Now, I shall disappear back into the shadows...ahhahaha

Great advice as always. Our Dear Leader leaves us again for the shadows

You said you want 70mm throttle body? How many mm is the stock one?

As for other plans I'm going to add some carbon fiber accents here and there, repaint my mirrors, red brake calipers, and I'm going to repaint the roof rack a dark gray! That should keep me busy for a little while

@99PlatinumWJ: I love the new look! I agree with what previous posters have said.

1) I would de-badge it as well as I think getting rid of those would make your ride look more serious and not like some kid little went wild with decals and stuck them everywhere . Plus aren't the Rubicon decals for Wranglers?

2) I love the body color cladding that you had done. Once you get the rear and front bumpers finished it will look so much better.

3) I would get rid of the off-roads mounted on the bumper and just go with a Gen III projector set with some HiD's. It would also throw the front's look together seeing as right now you have projector fogs, reflector headlights and those off-road lights which don't match too well together. So it would definitely tie the look together with some projectors.
1.)Hahah!!! Yeah I used to have my Jeep full of stickers, but I then realized less is more! Well the Rubicon stickers fit when it was lifted with 32's, and since the lift has been off for only 1 day they are still on.

2.)I really want to get limited bumpers and paint them to match. I seen a few Platinum WJ limiteds lately and I like how it all matches...

3.)Sorry to say but the Hellas are gonna stay. I have considered Gen 3 projectors and have bid on a few sets on Ebay here and there. We'll see lol

My I6 is by no means fast hahah. But after going for an off road route for 2 years, it was time for a change... And seeing you street jeep has been inspiring me for quite sometime and I finally pulled the trigger! I'm happy but haven't driven it much because I want an alignment done first.
Hopefully the suspension paint lasts for the summer lol

Please play guinea pig for us on this one! I have been toying around with the idea for a while and got a quote from Ryan for one but have had other things to fix/do first. Lol However a good review from you on a ported tb is a bad thing for my wallet!

"hybrid" is exactly the word I was looking for earlier, thats kinda the route I went. The sways and lighting is definitely street, but Im keeping the stock wheels and will put on AT tires as needed. Also the bilstien HD shocks seem to fall into the hybrid section well, they are smooth on the road and responsive off road. (well, the washed out dirt roads I call off roading )

Yeah no doubt. Do you know how much improved it will be with the new ported throttle body?

Well, If Tony's estimate of +10mpg from the weathertech floor mats is accurate, this could be huge!

Damn! I wonder if it would yield any positive results on the 4.0L?

I'll gladly guinea pig this one...FR seems to have a good rapport around here so I can't imagine he's selling a concept that doesn't work. I'd expect it here in the next few days, so as soon as it arrives, I'll be bolting it on. I'm about as impatient as Micheal Jackson at a boy scout meeting.

Let's be real...unless you get a good few inches of lift under a WJ, you're not really "off roading"...you're more like "enjoying the lack of pavement". So to have a hybrid set up for someone that enjoys that is the perfect combo. My father has had his SS Silverado in some muddy ass washed out trails around his house. That thing is enormous, on 20's or 22's, and running street tires. If he can get that beast to navigate around mild trails, you can certainly do it in a superior 4x4 with more aggressive rubber.
