04 caliper pins

I have an 04 grand cherokee, out of the 4 slider pins, 2 have flat spots on them. Do these go in in the top or bottom of the carrier, any one know ?
The lower pins were froze solid and they were the round ones. But I did this brake job 2 years ago had all the pins out and not sure if I got them back in correctly. The shop manual by Haynes did not mention this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
CP.
