245 75 16's on stock wj

I'm sure this question has come across many times, but just curious if I will have any issues with the 245 75 16 Goodyear Duratacs fitting on my '99 GC ltd..NO LIFT? They have a 30.7" diameter, I was told by someone who had them on his '04 that they had slight rub and would have to trim the inside of the fender/bumper a little, but I would really rather not and would also like to avoid a lift. Others have said I could fit 31's.. I have 245 75 16 American Prospector A/T's on at the moment and they don't rub at all. The Prospectors have 30.52" diameter. Is there any difference in the '99 and '04 wheel wells?

Don't know if this will help , but I have owned my 2000 WJ for a year now and they came with 245/75/16's. Have travelled about 10,000 kms with about 1000 kms offroad with no sign of rubbing.

That is interesting with that much offroading. What type of tires are they? Like I said I have LT245 75 16 Am. Prospector A/T's on at the moment and no issues whatsoever street driving, in reverse cornering or with light offroading

Does anyone have on this size Mud Terrains?
BFG Mud Terrain Specs.
245/75R16
SizeMaxLoad | 3042 lbs. @ 80 psi
Tread Depth | 18/32"
Rim Width RangeMeas.| 6.5-8

Tread Width | 7"
Overall Diam. | 30.7"

Goodyear Duratrac Specs.
LT245/75R16
Approved Rim Width | 6.5-8.0
(inches)
Meas. Rim | 7.0 |

SectionWidth | 9.8 |

Outside Diameter | 30.7 |
(inches)
Tread Depth | 18/32 |
(32nds of inch)
Max Load | 3,042 @80 |
(lbs)

Am. Prospector A/T
LT245/75/16
Section width | 9.62 |
Diameter | 30.62 |
Tread depth | 16.5/32 |

As you can see there are minor differences in section width and diameters which breaks down to .18" added width, .08" of added diameter as well as ~.045" of tread depth difference doubled across the tire=.09" of added tread. All in all the Duratrac is .18" wider (not including the side ribs) and have .17" increased diamter over the Prospector A/T... corect me if I'm wrong..

My version of off road is anything not bitumen that gets me to a particular fishing spot or ramp which is usually bull dust, corrugated dirt roads with a good mix of river crossings in between.
Favourite spot is a 310km round trip that has about 100kms of dirt and a river crossing that gets the door handles wet. I try and get there once a fortnight, but that depends purely on the tide. I wont be going back there for a while as the wet season is upon us with the river up an extra 3 mtrs.

Tyres on the WJ are Kenda radials / Klever HP. It is not a familiar brand to me. They are not AT's and more a road tyre. I did buy the WJ in Sydney which is more about city conditions and shopping malls.
