Akebono or Teves calipers?

My WJ was built in Feb 2002, so it should have Teves calipers. Based on the pictures I was able to find, it looks like I have Akebono.

What do you guys think?

Re: Akebono or Teves calipers?

Re: Akebono or Teves calipers?

So besides being a different manufacturer is one better than the other and if so why?

Re: Akebono or Teves calipers?

Seems that Jeep changed from Teves to Akebono due to the problems they encountered with the warping disks, eventhough the problem doesnīt seem to be solved completely with this swap. I have now 150K Km on mine (Akebono) and never encountered any problems with my brakes.

Re: Akebono or Teves calipers?

Thanks for confirming everyone. I am 99% sure they are Akebono. Time to order brake parts!

Jeep switched over at the end of 02 due to the Teves warping the front rotors.
