Re: *FINALLY* got the new tires & rubis!

Sweet! Love that wheel design. I'd stay away from roof mounting personally. Not only are they a bitch to get up and down, but they do NOT help highway fuel economy at all...I'd put it in the well as far as it'll go and build a false floor over it, then wrap it in something durable for the pups. Another option might be to mount it standing on it's tread against the side in the back...on the driver's side...like they do in XJ's.

Very proud of it! I've settled on the false floor, Will be the easiest and cheapest solution, and will work fine with a hatchbag.

BTW, I love your matching grill! Keep it that way!

Re: *FINALLY* got the new tires & rubis!

Ok, so now my awesome new wheels/tires are rubbing, only on hard turns, and (seemingly) only on the drivers side. I checked the inner cladding ( is that what its called?) and def. see rub marks. The drivers side seems a lot more loose than the other, so is there a way to secure it so its far enough away from the wheel?

I'm afraid if I do any trimming, the wires right behind the panel will drop and rub the tire.

Any ideas?

Re: *FINALLY* got the new tires & rubis!

you could try to remove the inner fender well (the piece that's rubbing) and put some industrial strength velcro on it to try and hold it up higher. that is if its moving when you push on it.

Definitely moving when I push it. Where can I get this velcro? How does it hold up in rain/snow?

Re: *FINALLY* got the new tires & rubis!

you can buy it here, http://www.amazon.com/Velcro-Brand-I.../dp/B00006IC2T as long as the surface you are sticking both sides to is as clean as possible when applying the velcro it should hold up to everything.

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but do you apply it on the inside or outside of the trim?

I saw a setup someone had with zip ties? Also, if this is only happening on my drivers side (though I do suspect it's happening on the other side as well in reverse only, BTW), is there now an axle offset?

Re: *FINALLY* got the new tires & rubis!

you would put one side of the velcro on the steel part of the fender inside and then put the other side on the inside of the plastic fender well facing the steel. i hope this helps.
